Enrichment Walk

Enrichment walk for real-world dog training
Exercise, stimulation, and gentle guidance are key aspects of our real-world dog training. An enrichment walk offers all three of these to your dog!

The enrichment walk will take place in your own neighborhood. During the walk, the trainer will not only work to keep your pet comfortable and excited, but will also focus on training your dog and shaping his behaviors. The walk offers a chance for our trainer to work one-on-one with your dog using BAT (behavioral adjustment training) techniques to teach your dog to heel, sit, and perform other important on-leash behaviors.

Whether your dog is reactive while on leash, has a tendency to pull during walks, or lacks confidence while exploring the outside world, an enrichment walk can help. The dog trainer will also help your dog learn to focus on your cues so he can behave calmly, stay at your side, and feel confident during walks.

Tutoring Session

In-home tutoring session with a dog trainer
Good behavior shouldn't stop at your front door. This is why our real-world dog training also includes an in-home tutoring session! This training session is essential for fostering communication and understanding between an owner and her pet.

During the tutoring session, one of our dog trainers will come to your Denver-area home. You will learn how to put on and remove any training tools your dog requires, such as a head or body harness, muzzle, or specialized collar. The dog trainer will also help you learn handling skills and body language cues.

In addition to helping you learn how to support your dog's good behavior, this session will also allow your dog to become accustomed to new people entering the home. It will also ensure that your dog's training can continue during bad weather conditions.

Field Trip

Field trip and dog training session in Denver
The final aspect of our real-world dog training is one of the most challenging for many pets: training in the real world. We will bring your dog to a nearby pet-friendly location, such as a pet store, hardware store, or shopping center. During the field trip, the dog trainer will ensure that your dog remains safe while reinforcing good behaviors out in the real world.

All of the skills that your pet has learned during the enrichment walk and in-home tutoring session will be encouraged and reinforced in a new environment. This helps your pet learn how to ignore distractions and behave well in the real world. The field trip can also help dogs that suffer from anxiety or fear learn to overcome these challenges and develop the confidence needed to be a great companion in and out of your home.

Are you ready to get started? The first step is to book a behavioral evaluation! This will allow our dog trainer to get to know you and your pet, understand the challenges you are facing, and devise a training plan to help your dog become his best self.
